Ethics, Values, and Spirituality

Competency 1b: Ethics, Values, and Spirituality

Introduction

The Andrews University Leadership Department advances a set of leadership competencies, which require students to have “theoretical knowledge and practical application” within a set of “core [leadership] competencies” of which the “leadership of the self” is one group of competencies (Leadership Handbook, 2011, p. 36). This first group of leadership competencies addresses “the self-awareness and the personal and professional identity required when practicing leadership;” specifically Competency 1b: Ethics, values, and spirituality describes how leadership “functions from a set of principles and standards that guides work and relationships” (Leadership Handbook, 2011, p. 36).

I would like to clear this competency at the
Proficient Level.
