Organizational Behavior, Development, and Culture

Organizational Culture. Schein (1985) considers that “organizations are not easy to define in time and space,” and they are, he reasons, “open systems in constant interaction with their many environments,” consisting of numerous “subgroups, occupational units, hierarchical layers, and geographically dispersed segments” (p. 7).
Competency 3c: Organizational Behavior, Development, and Culture
Introduction
Since, the incorporation of The Matzevah Foundation (TMF) as a non-profit, I have worked to shape the ethos of the organizations and its values. I continue to lead in the development of TMF’s organizational behavior and culture.
I desire to grow and develop in my knowledge and practice as I lead and shape the organizational behavior and culture of TMF. In order to establish resonance in the behavior and organizational values of TMF, I need to increase my conceptual knowledge and understanding of how organizations operate.
My reflection paper will reflect my journey of understanding this need. Accordingly, my paper will explore theoretical constructs related to organizational behavior, development, and culture, such as Schein’s treatment of organizational culture and leadership, as well as, servant and ethical leadership. Additionally, I will consider Mor Barak’s inclusive workplace model. I will discuss the principle values of TMF and how the board members and volunteer view their values in comparison with those of TMF. Furthermore, I will discuss how I have shaped and developed the identity of TMF and its cross-cultural integrity through training and value reinforcement.
